Stratigraphic Columns

Two columns show the layers of the two continents, Africa and South America. The orders of the columns are almost identical, but the first layers are different, which is the most recent layers. The first layer of the Africa is the sand, but the first layer of the South America is the soil and the plants.
This is connected with the continents drift, as the layers of the two continents are same. After the continents drift, the Africa became the deserted land. But except the first layer of the columns, they are all same. So that's why the Africa and South America was once together.
